Ramy Ashour Is 2014 World Champion
Egyptian Ramy Ashour, the 27-year-old appearing in
his first competitive tournament since May's Allam
British Open, defied the odds to claim his third world
crown, beating compatriot Mohamed Elshorbagy in a
thrilling final of the Qatar PSA World Championship in
Doha.
Egypt's Mohamed
Elshorbagy, 11 years younger than World Champion Nick
Matthew, produced an awesome performance against the
higher-ranked Englishman in Qatar Classic final in the
Qatari capital Doha to win the first PSA World Series
squash title of his young career.
The match had
all the makings of a great climax to the seventh PSA
World Series event staged before a packed crowd at the
Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex.

Earlier in the second round unseeded Saurav beat Egyptian Karim Abdel Gawad to become the first Indian in the 36-year history of the PSA World Tour's premier event to reach the pre-quarters.
But in the pre-quarters Ghosal ranked 21, failed to stretch the Englishman and lost 6-11, 7-11, 2-11 in 49 minutes. Ghosal took a 6-2 lead in the first before Willstrop came back to take control of the match
In a rare final between two qualifiers, Irishman Arthur Gaskin clinched the first PSA World Tour title of his career when he beat Pakistan's Syed Ali Shah Bokhari in the climax of the QSF PSA Challenger, the PSA Challenger 5 squash event at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in Doha, Qatar.

In his first major title success for more than two years, France's Gregory Gaultier stormed to victory over England's higher-ranked James Willstrop in the final of the 2011 Qatar Classic to pick up the trophy for the first time in the sixth PSA World Series squash event of the year at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in the Qatar capital Doha.
