The main objective of
organising squash tournament was to promote this game
among college students in somaiya college with the help
of coach Rahul Pawar and Samir Somaiya who is the
chairperson is also one of the good squash players.
Aman Kumbhani, Divit Poojary and Pradnesh More
emerged as winner,runner-up and Second runner-up
respectively in boys event.
And Anisha Anilkumar,
Devika Jawadekar and Saloni Bokhil emerged as
winner,runner-up and Second runner-up respectively in
girls event.

Inderjit Singh today lifted the State Squash
Championship titles in their respective categories.The
championship was held at the Lake Club, Sector 3. While
Inderjit defeated Shivam Bansal 3-1 in the boys U-17
final to clinch the title, Jannia overwhelmed Anjali
Gupta 3-0 in the girls U-15 title clash.
Jannia,
who is ranked third in the junior India squash circuit,
also lifted the trophy in the women's senior category,
outplaying Priya Gupta 3-0. Inderjit, meanwhile,
finished second in the boys U-19 category. Both Jannia
and Inderjit have been selected for the trials of the
Indian Squash (Junior) team. The selected team will
participate in the Asian Juniors Squash Championship to
be held in Malaysia.
In other matches, Ishaan
Nayar emerged winner in the boys U-13 category while
Saurabh Nayar won the men's (35+ years) event.

they lifted the MSSA boys and girls U-16 title at the
CCI squash courts. Arya Vidya Mandir’s (Bandra) Shahani
defeated Veer Chotrani of Jamnabai Narsee (Juhu) 11-8,
11-7, 14-16, 11-9 to lift his first MSSA title while
Arya Vidya Mandir’s (Juhu) Navmi Sharma of had it easy
against Abhilasha Bhasin of Cathedral and John Connon
(Fort) 11-3, 11-6, 11-3 to register her first title
victory.

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Indian Navy team emerged winners in the 51st Inter Services Squash Championship 2012-13 after defeating Indian Air Force team in the final..
The Army Red team secured the third position. In the open event, Vikas Jangra, Chief Petty Officer Physical Training Instructor of Indian Navy beat Sergeant Sandip Jangra of Indian Air Force in a keenly-contested final.
The
newly renovated Squash Complex in Noida Stadium was the host of one of the
most popular squash events in the region over the weekend. The event saw the
presence of all the top players in Northern India converging for the event
with a record 358 entries in nine categories ( Women – 3 and Men -6 )
ranging from Under 13 to over 40 for men with representation from Allahabad,
Varanasi, Kanpur, Bareilly, Dhampur, Chandigarh, Delhi and the NCR.
The
event was held under the aegis of the UP State Squash Association (UPSRA)
and was organized by the District Gautam Budh Nagar Squash Racket
Association(DGBNSRA). The 4
glass back courts complex with a wide viewing gallery within a stadium
complex is an excellent facility and we must be thankful to Noida
administration for having given these facilities stated Dr NK Pandey

The
Noida Centre for Squash under the mentorship of Lalit Verma, Wg Cdr Bir
Singh & nationally acclaimed squash coach Puneet Singh is attracting
young talent even from Delhi and many of the children are seeded among the

MUMBAI: Sanjay Goyal led
from the front, winning the deciding ninth tie 3-0
against Ravindra Jagtap to whom he had lost earlier in
the league to give Team Ashour (named after the world
champ) a 5-4 win over Team Lincou and with it the Bombay
Gymkhana-SRAM squash league title.
The teams,
which played over two months, were named after the
current greats. The winners took home Rs 60,000. Jagtap
is the father of British Junior champ Aditya, now
training in Egypt with Mahesh Manganokar. His agility
would have shamed half his 50-plus age. Goyal gave
credit to Siddharth Samantray and Aishwarya Kulkarni for
their consistent displays. The others to win were
professional Gopi Mohite, on his home courts, and Rohan
Zaveri. Team Shabana beat Willstrop 5-4 for the third
spot while Darwish finished fifth beating Gaultier.
Rajat Agarwal was adjudged player of the league. For
British lady Mandy Kennedy it was her last tournament
after a three and a half year stay in Mumbai where
husband Simon was posted and where son Ben played tennis
after squash. She won several titles in Mumbai and was
adjudged the best captain in the league.
