Fifteen-year-old Saumya Karki of Hiranandani School, Thane, bagged the girls under-19 title in the Rs 2 lakh prize money JSW All-India Schools & Junior College Championship, which concluded at the Jindal Squash Academy, Vasind. The boys under-17 title was won by Samir Mistry of Rims International College with hard fought five game win over S M Mutha College's Shashi Pandey. However, the grueling match took its toll on Mistry and he was unable to play the under-19 final against the same opponent, giving him a walkover in the process. 

The 16-year-old Mistry showed great resilience and grit to down the bigger built Pandey after the match was tied at 2-2 to win the decider and match. Mistry prevailed 11-5, 13-11, 6-11, 7-11, 11-9. It was unfortunate that he had to concede the under-19 final. 

Saumya Karki, who was the top seed in the girls under-19 age group, beat second seed Ankita Sharma from N M College 11-7, 11-13, 11-3, 12-10 for her second back-to-back girls under-19 title. A week ago Saumya won the u-19 title in the All India Little Masters Squash Championship. Saumya pocketed Rs 8000 for her win.

Sixteen – years – old Samir Mistry of Rims International College won the boys under – 17  title the Rs 2 lakhs prize money JSW All India Schools and Junior College Squash Championship , which conclude at Jindal Squash Academy Vasind.

The final was a tightly fought five game match with SM  Mutha College ‘s Shashi Pandey. The grueling match took its toll on Samir and he was unable to play the under – 19 final against the same opponent , giving Shashi a walkover in the process.

The 16 – years – old showed a great resilience and grit to down the bigger built Pandey after the match was tied at 2-2 to win the decider and match .Samir prevailed 11-5 , 13-11 , 6-11 , 7-11 , had to concede the under – 19 final.

Meanwhile , Fifteen - year - old Saumya Kraki of Hiranandani School , bagged the girls under – 19 title .Saumya , who was top seed in her group , beat second seed Ankita Sharma from N.M. College 11 –7 , 11-13 , 11-3 , 12-10 for her second back to back under – 19 title. 

A week ago Saumya won the under – 19 title in All India Little Master Squash Championship. Saumya pocketed Rs 8,000 for her win.

TWO Q/F ENTRIES FOR VEER

Khar Gymkhana ‘s Veer Chotrani enter quaterfinal of boys u –11 and open – 9 age group on Friday in the second. JSW – All India School and Junior College Squash Championship. Rs 2 lakhs prize money tournament is being played at glass back squash court of Jindal Squash academy in Vasind.

Veer outplayed Hitesh Sharma 11 –2 , 11 –5 , 11 –6 in the boys under – 11 second round match and beat Rahul Gidhwani 11 –0  , 11-0 , 11 –1 in the Open – 9 category. Meanwhile Tushar Shahani beat Jayesh Pamnani 11 –4 , 11-2 , 11-5 in the boys under – 11 category to enter the quaterfinals. 

Also . in the first round of the boys under – 13 category , Don Bosco School’s Kunj Rawani defeated Jindal Vidya Mandir’s Harsh Gupta 11 –1 , 11 – 1 , 11 –0 to reach the second round. 

There have been over 250 entries – from the Jindal Squash Academy at Vasind , Mumbai the Hiranandani Foundation in Thane to Goa , Bengaluru , Raigad , Delhi , Allahabad and Kolhapur – for these three tournament.

 

VEER , TUSHAR SQUASHES AHEAD

Khar Gymkhana’s Veer and Tushar Shahani entered the quarter final of the boys Under – 11 & Open – 9 age groups in the Rs 2 lakhs prize money 2nd JSW – All India School and Junior College Squash Championship. 

The event was organised by Indian Squash Professionals (ISP) under the aegis of SRAM being played at the glass back squash court of Jindal Squash Academy ,Vasind on Friday. 

He beat Rahul Gidhwani 11-0 , 11 –0 , 11- 1 while Tushar Shahani beats Jayesh Pamnani 11 – 4 , 11-2 , 11-5 in the boys U- 11 category . 

In the first round of boys u – 13  category , Don Bosco School’s Kunj Rawani defeated Jindal Vidya Mandir’s Harsh Gupta 11 –1 , 11 –1 , 11 – 0 to reach the second round. More than 250 entries have been received by Jindal Sqaush Academy Vasind , Mumbai , Hiranandani Foundation – Thane , Goa , Banglore , Raigad , Delhi , Allahabad and Kolhapur for this three days tournament.
